This site is devoted to the study of the “Regulatory Welfare State” (RWS). It presents scholarly works and other relevant information on the expansion of regulation in the welfare state and the social policy arena, as well as the social aspects of the regulatory state. The concept of the RWS was developed over recent years through an ongoing interaction among scholars working on this concept via conference meetings, workshops, and publications. Our purpose is to encourage and expand the debate to wider audiences, building a research community, and encouraging research and discussion on the theoretical and practical aspects of the RWS.
